세계의 독특한 교통안전표지판 TOP 10(Special Traffic Signs Around The World)

교통안전표지판은 도로 운행과 관련하여 많은 정보를 준다. 세계 각국의 도로 표지판은 나라마다 지역마다 그 특성에 맞게 설치되어있다. 어떤 독특한 교통안전표지판이 있는지 함께 살펴보자!

1. 영국(United Kingdom) - 디즈니 캐릭터 표지판

영국에서는 디즈니 캐릭터를 활용한 표지판이 존재한다. 영국의 공식 도로표지판 디자이너 '마가렛 캘버트(Magaret Calvert)'가 도로 안전 자선단체 브레이크(Brake)와 함께 실제 교통안전 표지판을 디즈니 캐릭터로 제작했다. 부모와 교사가 2~7세 아이들에게 도로 교통법규을 가르치는데 도움을 주기 위해 만들어졌다. 하지만 이 표지판은 안전 매뉴얼에 맞게 설계되었지만 도로에는 설치되지 않았다고 한다.

 

United Kingdom - Disney Road Signs

Britain’s official road sign designer, Margaret Calvert OBE, created the special edition signs as part of a new initiative between Disney Junior and road safety charity Brake. They help pearents and teachers educate two to seven-year-olds about the basics of road safety. The signs are designed for classrooms and safety manuals and will not appear on roads.

미국 캘리포니아주 협곡 도로에는 낙우 주의 표지판이 설치되어 있다. 경사면에 소를 방목하여 키우는데 폭우가 오게되면 소가 산비탈에 미끄러져 도로로 떨어지는 일이 종종 발생한다고 한다.

 

America - Watch for Falling Cows!

This sign is installed in hillside road in California, The United States. As the cows are put out to pasture on the slope, the cows often slip on hillside and fall to the road during heavy rains.

4. 핀란드(Finland) - 스마트폰 좀비주의

자동차에 치이는 사고의 대부분의 원인은 스마트폰 화면보기이다. 그래서 핀란드 탐페레시의 새르캔니에미 다목적 공원에는 이러한 경각심을 일깨우기 위해 '스마트폰 좀비 주의'라는 도로 표지판이 설치되었다.

People often bump on cars because they are immersed too deeply into smartphone screen. To alert people, Särkänniemi Park in Tampere, Finland has a traffic sign saying “Beware of Smartphone Zombies”

5. 호주(Australia) - 캥거루, 웜벳, 낙타 출몰주의

호주 널버러 평원을 가로지르는 고속도로를 운행할 시 길을 건너는 낙타, 캥거루 ,웜벳(Wombat)이 있으니 주의하라는 의미로 세워졌다. 특히 빠르게 움직이는 캥거루는 차량이 속도를 지키면서 안전하게 운전하더라도 종종 충돌사고가 일어난다고 한다(우리나라 고라니 같은 존재일까..?).

Australia - Watch for Kangaroo, Wombat and Camel

This sign warns that camel, kangaroo, and wombat might suddenly cross the road while driving along the highway across the plain. Especially, kangaroos move really fast and they often collide with cars even when driving safely in a safe speed.

태국 푸켓섬 파통 거리에는 세계 휴양지 특성상 거리에 취객이 많아 차량 혹은 보행자들에게 술 취한 사람들이 건너고 있으니 주의하라는 표지판이다.

중국 베이징에는 코끼리가 그려진 과적 주의 표지판이 있다. 어떤 의미인지 파악하기 어렵고 코끼리만 보고 이와 관련된 메시지로 추측하겠지만, 코끼리와 무관하게 화물의 높이가 너무 높거나, 짐을 많이 실은 과적 차량, 적재 화물의 길이가 너무 긴 차량은 통행할 수 없음을 알리는 표지판이다.

10. 한국(Korea) - 두꺼피 로드킬 주의 표지판

한국에 있는 광양만녹색연합은 섬진강 근처에 서식하는 두꺼비 로드킬을 예방하기 위해 주의표지판이 설치되었다. 산란시기인 2~3월과 비 오는 날 두꺼비 로드킬이 집중적으로 발생하기 때문에 이동하는 두꺼비를 보호하기 위함이다.

The Gwangyang Bay Green Alliance in Korea has installed a warning sign to prevent toad roadkill that occurs near the Seomjingang River. It was designed to protect migrating toads because of the intensive occurrence of toad roadkill during the spawning season, February to March and on rainy days.
